PAT HERLEHY BAND - LIVE AT THE AUBURN PITTS

The Pat Herlehy Band performed in Auburn NH last night at the Auburn Pitts, the band played some great covers as well as old original favorites from Pat's old band "Big Boy Guitar". Pat Herlehy Band has Pat joined by his old BBG band mate Tom Flynn on rhythm guitar, the pair play well off of each other and Tom holds a steady rhythm as Pat solos on either guitar or saxophone. Pat and Tom are joined by Keith Damanche on bass and Jon Gromblatt on drums. The music was raunchy and Pats vocals were gritty. I did not get to stay for the entirety of the bands performance and I will be making another trip to see them some time soon. What I did see and hear was very good. As I walked into the club I could hear the band playing the Big Boy Guitar song "Gambling Man Blues" and Pat was tearing into his guitar solo. Pat has some great licks up his sleeve as well as some interesting licks. I enjoyed all the BBG tunes "Kiss My Ass", "Big Fat Elvis" and the covers heard we executed well and with a different approach. The band played a kind of laid back version of "Messing With The Kid" that had a hint of funk running through it also. There was a very cool version of "Southbound" that they played and a great cover of "Call Me The Breeze". I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the Auburn Pitts. The venue has a very "homey feel" to it. The inside of the venue is not very large, but the staff is very nice and attentive. There is a deck outside the venue and a rather large yard that could hold probably a couple hundred people. Outside on the deck there is a small bar, the outer wall is lined with tv's and there is plenty of seating. In the middle of the yard there is a large tent with more seating facing the outside stage. Further back in the yard there is a fire pitt and some horse shoe pitts. The food was very good and there was even a free buffet. Overall I'd recommend seeing the Pat Herlehy Band and if you have not made a visit to the Auburn Pitts you may be surprised. If you're in the area and looking for some good food and a friendly atmosphere stop in and check out the Auburn Pitts. That's All For Now Take Care
